Blogger Help

Sorry this is longwinded posting, but I need you help.

Since returning to Blogger in the past few months I've had a few hurdles that I hope you can help me with.  I follow all the blogs I've been reading through the Blogger Dashboard. Since I've discovered so many wonderful new blogs (new to me) in the past couple of months, I've discovered that the Blogger Dashboard has a 300 Blog maximum that you can follow and then it will not allow you to follow more, unless you delete some of the blogs you are following.  Now sorry, but that just won't do, delete blogs, no way.

So I did a little searching and realized if you went to Google Reader instead, you can "subscribe" to more than 300 blogs (Okay so I'm at 697 blogs now!)  This is where my problem lies.  I realized at first when I added more blogs to read in Google Reader, that I was then able to read them through the Blogger Dashboard.

But lately, some of the blogs I've been following for years in Blogger Dashboard are not showing me all the postings from these blogs in Blogger Dashboard.  I like the appearance of Blogger Dashboard more than Google Reader (oops, sorry am I allowed to say  So I check Blogger Dashboard, and then I go to Google Reader to see what I've been missing.  That's a nuisance.  I would like to see all the blogs I am following "or subscribing too) in Blogger Dashboard, is this possible.

Another thing I notice is that some of the blogs I "subscribed" too in Google Reader show me as "anonymous" and not under my name, Wanda.  Now let's face it, I don't want to be "anonymous", especially when I leave you a comment, you may delete it!!

Lastly I noted in my comments section of Blogger Dashboard that there was a spam folder.  When I checked in the folder, I noticed that some followers comments to me had gone in there.  Simon, all your comments were there, and I moved them to the original folder.  Simon I know you had said that you couldn't comment on your own blog, maybe it's because your comments are also in your Spam folder.

I know when I leave comments on some blogs, you have to add two words that you see on the screen to prove your comment is not Spam.  I find some of the words, are extremely difficult to read, and sometimes I have to try 2-3 times before I get one right.  Do followers have to do the same thing for my blog?  I know some blogs don't have this. Is it because there is someway to disable this feature.  It's a real nuisance.  It must discourage some folks from leaving comments.

I've tried googling these problems to see if there is anything I can change, but really haven't found any help.  Has anyone else experienced these problems?

I've fairly computer literate, but these new problems are challenging me.  Hope you can help me.

Until next time.....

Interesting blogs

I'd been away from blogging for so many months.  In the past few weeks that I've been back, I've also had to catch up on my blog reading, and I found some wonderful new blogs to read as well (New to me at least).  In case you aren't aware of these wonderful blogs I thought I would pass them on to you.  The first blog I found was Ray Whitledge's blog at  Ray is such a talented miniaturist, and the fact that he is so kind to share his work online is absolutely phenomenal.  I've been a fan of his work for many years, and hope some day to complete one of his workshops.

Another great blog I found was Cynthia's blog at  Cynthia creates wonderful mini foods and accents.  She also sells her items on Etsy.  Check it out!

And this past weekend I found another wonderful blog.  Simon has been building fabulous miniature houses.  His attention to detail his fantastic.  Check him out at

I've strayed from many other things I was suppose to do, such as housework, because I was reading these wonderful blogs.  I read each of them from beginning to end.

Thank you to all your kind comments after yesterday's posting.  When my dad passed away recently my doctor felt it necessary for me to be tested to ensure that the illness suffered by my dad for many years would not be my destiny as well.  I am happy to report that I sailed through the test, and everything is fine!  Thanks again for caring.

And another shout out to the new followers.  With each new follower I also find many wonderful new blogs to read as well.  Isn't this mini world a wonderful sharing place?

My husband and I are leaving in 6 weeks for a wonderful European vacation, I am hoping to scope out many fabulous miniature sites and shops before I leave.  I've already found out about 3 shops in Barcelona, Spain thanks to Eva at  We will also be travelling to Cannes and Monte Carlo in France, Livorno, Pisa, and Florence, Rome and Naples in Italy, then on to Athens, Greece, Ephesus, Turkey and Santorini.  Yes, if you haven't guessed it's a cruise, but even then I would love to squeeze in some mini shopping and viewing.  But with all the wonderful sites to be seen I am sure I will be inspired with many ideas for future mini projects.  But if you can suggest other wonderful miniature sites I can visit in these cities, please do not hesitate to drop me an email or comment.  I would love it, (my husband, maybe not so man he lets me drag him to all the miniature stores when we travel....he's even started collecting a few items himself, I guess it rubs off after a while!)

Just so  that I don't leave you with a long rambling post without any mini pictures, I had to dig through my picture file and find something to share.  These are several of the other needlepoint rugs and cushions I have completed over the past several years.  They are used in several of the miniature projects I have completed, and still

The Rug

I got so many wonderful comments on the rug.  I thought you would like to know where I got the pattern.  It's from the book Dollhouse Decor by Nick and Esther Forder.  I found it in a second hand bookstore in Vermont about 6 years ago, so I don't know for sure if it's still available in bookstores.  It's been a wonderful source for me for all sorts of soft furnishings for dollhouse projects.  If you can find a copy it is definitely worth the purchase.

Thanks for all the new followers.  I've been reading your blogs and found such great inspiration from your miniature works as well.  Thanks for sharing.

For all those who leave comments, words cannot express how much they mean to me.  Your comments give me the motivation to continue on in my miniature projects.  Thanks for your kindness.

I've started my next miniature needlepoint project now.  Some needlepoint cushions for the castle room.  More on that in the next posting.

I'm off to the hospital now for a much dreaded test.  Wish me luck.

Until the next time...........

One completed rug

I've gotten a little side tracked from the garden shed this week and decided to finish the rug for the castle room.  Here is the completed rug.  It took me about 2 years, off and on, because I kept putting it down to work on other items.  But it is so nice to have it finished.  I was challenged with blocking it, and I may wet it again and try a little more, but it is much improved over where I started.

I also photographed it with some of the other pieces for the castle room, so you can see the colour theme I am working with for this project.

And from another angle to see more detail

Overall I am pleased with the finished product.  I have always had one miniature needlepoint project in the works at all times, so now I need to find another to start.  I would like to do some needlepoint cushions for the castle room, but am still looking for the right pattern.  Would love some floral and traditional patterns.  If you have some suggestions, I would love to hear about them.

Hello to all the new followers.  Thank you for taking the time to check out my blog.  I've found several new blogs to follow myself in the past week because of the new followers.  There are such wonderful and interesting blogs to read out there.  I think I follow over 700 blogs's getting hard to keep up with them all, but I am managing.

It's been an absolutely beautiful week here in St John's, and now we are celebrating our Canada Day weekend, with an extra day off, YIPPEE! So I have to go outside and enjoy this beautiful weather. It's Newfoundland and we are lucky to get two months of summer, so we have to grab every beautiful day when we can. It's suppose to get up to 27 degrees celcius today.

Until next time............
